Fill those blank spaces on your wall with happy memories.

Choose items to display that are reminders of positive memories that are uplifting and energizing.”
Have you ever walked into a restaurant, store or hotel and noticed how the artwork or photography on the wall always looks so put-together and beautifully polished? Have you ever thought about your own space and wished you could have that look but later thought, "That's not how real people live," or "I could never make it look so good."

I'm here to tell you that you can have that look with these five simple tips to make it happen.

1. Choose the ones you love. First determine the pictures or photographs that you would like to incorporate into your design. Make sure that anything you include has a positive thought or memory associated with it.  When hanging artwork that has a negative correlation to people, places or situations they serve as a constant reminder of the depleting subject or event that drains your energy. So, choose items to display that are reminders of positive memories that are uplifting and energizing.

2. Choose your style. Now that you have determined which pictures will brighten your wall and your wellbeing, determine what type of frame will look best in the space. Do you prefer all black, ornate scrollwork or a brushed cottage look. There are so many fabulous styles to choose from. Once you have picked your style get the appropriate sizes for your art or photography and place the pictures in the frames. Notice how by placing the pictures in the same style frame they already feel more cohesive.

3. Repurpose brown paper bags. Use them to help you create the perfect wall collage. Cut the brown bags to match up with the number and sizes of the frames you are planning on putting on your wall. Be as exact as possible so you will get the desired professional look that you see at your favorite boutique, restaurant or hotel.

4. Painter’s tape. Use painter's tape to adhere the brown bag cut outs on your wall.  Play with different arrangements to see what you like best. Take the time to stand back and determine if the look makes your heart sing. Use a measuring tape to get equal distance between cut outs and the equivalent height where needed.

5. Hang the pictures. Leave the bag cut outs in place and hammer the nail into place. You might need to measure where the hook is on the back of the frame to get it in the best place. Measure from the top of the frame to the lip of the hook on the backside of the frame. Use your measurement to determine where it is best to place the nail on the cut out.  Hammer away and hang your art. After you have secured your nails, hung your pictures and stepped back to admire your work, you can remove the cut outs.

This is how the professionals create picture perfect puzzles when it comes to organized wall displays. Enjoy your put-together and beautifully polished wall of positivity promoting art.
