Today is Loving Day

On June 12, 1967, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the conviction of a married couple named Loving (how appropriate, right?)--he was white, she was black. They violated Virginia's law against interracial marriage. Based on the ruling, interracial marriage became legal in all 50 states. Isn't it amazing that only 41 years ago couples would go to jail for marrying someone of a different race? So thank you Mildred Jeter and Richard Loving for standing up for love.
