The Importance of a Date Night Plan for Parents
We all know the importance of date nights, but with kids at home it can be tricky. Here are some tips for to plan and execute a special time, alone.

I'm still not sure if it’s the chicken or the egg, but I think I’m safe to answer that we all started off as a couple first before the little one(s) showed up.

There is no question that children will completely change the marriage. We all know this going into it (or at least we should). So, it probably would be a good idea to discuss how you are going to keep the flame burning for the two of you once (or now) that the kids have arrived.

Hello date night!

Something as simple as agreeing to a night reserved just for the two of you can keep that connection going. Now, not knowing your specific financial situation please take heed that this evening does not have to bankrupt you. I’m also not suggesting that going on a date night has to be every week, but twice a month wouldn’t be out of the question, would it?

The chance of date night being consistent and successful is by taking turns with the planning and not having just one person doing it all. Men, trust me when I say this, for most women we really don’t care what you have planned or how much money you have spent. What goes directly to our hearts is that you spent time thinking about something special just for us.

Remember, this is a date. Don’t buy her a Crockpot or something else for the house unless you want her to throw both you and the pot to the ground. And, there’s just one last piece of advice to keep you out of hot water. We love that our partners have outside interests, however, we may not love them as much as you do. Keep that in mind when it’s your turn to choose something that the both of you can enjoy together.

I am sure there are many new and interesting things happening around your city that will not cost you an arm and leg. Check the city section of your local newspaper to get some ideas. Another good place to get suggestions from is by talking to friends or co-workers to get their opinion on what’s good and what to stay away from.

Whatever you decide, make sure that the environment is quiet where the two of you can have a conversation because this is really what the entire evening is all about: communication, being together, creating new experiences and staying connected. Now go have some fun together!
