My friends and family always say when they introduce me, "This is Kristina, she’s a chef."
Inevitably, the next question is "Really? Where do you work?" and then I have say, "Well, I’m a former chef who still works in the restaurant business…"
It’s complicated and drives me crazy, especially because the next question is always, "Do you miss it?" The answer is "yes and no." Obviously, I don’t miss the day to day of it all that much, or I’d still be doing it. But I still love cooking and sharing that passion with others, and thus, my blog, FormerChef was born.
My main goal is to show people step by step how easy cooking can be. In addition, I’ve recently returned to gardening so I’m blogging a bit about being an urban gardener. Finally, I’m completely obsessed with travel to far flung corners of the globe. You can see my travelogues (much of them related to food, of course) at www.wired2theworld.com.
Photography and Text:
All photos accompanying my articles are taken by me, unless otherwise stated. I have a Nikon D40X DSLR camera and I’m still learning how to use it.
The writing is all done by me as are the recipes. If the recipes are inspired by a book, restaurant or blog, I do my best to give credit where it’s due. I hope you will do the same.
